Reason for writing children’s books

Writing is in my blood. I am passionate about writing children’s books and would not give it up for anything else. I have been writing on various topics ever since I was in middle school. I always enjoyed getting up in the morning and writing a story. Stories bring people together. Stories entertain people and take their minds to another place outside of their current world. Children love to hear stories because they feel they are traveling to another location. Children are not afraid of change and are easily carried to this fantasy place.

I have always been a writer who does not feel my topics for a story should be limited. It could be about anything, whether culture, arts, sports, or a summer road trip.

I am never afraid to challenge myself to new imaginations to create that captivating story. My empathetic style always places me in the mind of my readers. What do they want to read? Are they happy reading my stories? Do they want to come back for more stories? I think of the stories but then go to the place of my readers. My mother instilled these skills of being a great storyteller in me at an early age. She always told stories with a moral behind it. Since she never went to school and could not read or write, her way of teaching me life-lessons was to tell stories about living things. She kept the family happy with her short, captivating stories.

I strongly believe in writing stories as a gift for my children and being a role model for future generations.

I also believe that I have the knowledge and experience to write stories from all works of life and entertain my readers. I try to stay away from controversial stories or stories that demean, belittle, or marginalize people.

Some writers write to advocate for a change in government. Advocating for governmental reform is not my style as I also try to stay away from politics.
